Here is a Play by Play of What You Can Expect at our Prescott Chiropractic Clinic

All new practice members are required to fill out the new practice member health application form as complete as possible. This form will be provided upon arrival. However, we have also provided you the option to print out this health application prior to coming into the office by simply clicking here. By having the form filled out before your appointment, this will save yourself up to 15 minutes on your first visit.

A one-on-one consultation will be conducted to discuss your health conditions, and your overall health goals. This consultation will provide us with a better understanding of your current health status as well as assist us with locating the cause of your health conditions, so we can properly address your specific needs. We also firmly believe that knowledge is power; that is why we spend quality time with each practice member providing the necessary education and knowledge to ensure you are able to make an informed decision with yours’ and your family’s health.

With Dr. Boehland, the chiropractic assessment procedures are focused on locating and correcting Vertebral Subluxations (learn more here). The procedures we use in our office are specialized towards the evaluation of your spine and nervous system. A comprehensive chiropractic evaluation and Neurological Diagnostic Testing will be performed to further objectify the exact cause of your health conditions.

Using our state-of-the-art chiropractic technology, that is NASA published diagnostic equipment, we will identify and locate the dysfunction within the body. The Neurological Diagnostic Testing and Chiropractic Evaluation is described in the following 3 sections: (Please visit our Technology Page to learn more)

The first part of our neurological evaluation will include a thermographic spinal reading. This determines heat differences from one side of the spine to the other. These heat differences will indicate whether or not neurological disturbances are present within the spinal column.

Surface EMG

The second part of our neurological evaluation is a surface EMG. This scan will be performed to evaluate the difference in electrical impulses traveling from your nervous system to the musculature along your spine. This evaluation observes the motor mechanism of your muscles to insure they are in balance and receiving 100% of the information being sent from the nervous system.

Chiropractic Evaluation

The last part of the assessment will include a Chiropractic Evaluation. This will include a range of motion evaluation requiring you to bend forwards, backwards, and sideways. This will also include palpation, which allows us to check your spine by hand. Palpation will include static palpation and motion palpation to evaluate spinal position, curvature, muscle tone, skin tissue differences, and any restricted range of motion.

The results from the neurological evaluation will provide us with a better understanding of the current state of health you are experiencing. These findings along with their significance will be discussed and explained during your Report of Findings appointment.

Chiropractic Postural x-rays may be required based on the individual chiropractic assessment results.

Chiropractic postural x-rays are an important component of the examination process. Postural x-rays allow us to evaluate the structure of the spine and assist us locating areas of possible Vertebral Subluxations. They also give information relative to the position of the misaligned bone, in what direction the bone has misaligned, and the extent of spinal degeneration.

At Cornerstone Family Chiropractic, we firmly believe, “to see is to know, not to see is to guess, and we will not guess with yours’ or your family’s health!” The information gathered from the Neurological Diagnostic Testing, the Chiropractic Examination, and the postural x-rays allows us to make an informed and accurate determination for the type and duration of chiropractic care. Your Neurological Diagnostic Testing results, findings from the Chiropractic Examination, and the postural x-rays will be explained in detail by Dr. Boehland during your Report of Findings appointment.

Scheduling your Report of Findings appointment is the most important appointment to schedule.

This appointment will be scheduled within a few days of your initial visit and is a mandatory appointment. Your Neurological Diagnostic Testing results, findings from the Chiropractic Examination, and the postural x-rays will all be thoroughly explained. Dr. Boehland will then take the time to discuss with you the cause of your health concerns and provide you with a customized care plan.

Research has shown that knowledge speeds up the healing process and at our Prescott Chiropractic office, we provide you with accurate information concerning your health through patient education and answers to your questions.
